विराटनगरमा आयोजित पत्रकार सम्मेलनमा प्रमुख निर्वाचन आयुक्त भोजराज पोखरेलले यस्तै सुरक्षास्थितिमा चुनाव हुन नसक्ने बताउनुभयो। सम्मेलनमा पोखरेलले भन्नुभयो- 'यो खालको सुरक्षास्थितिमा चुनाव हुन सक्दैन। कर्मचारीले काम गर्न सक्ने अवस्था छैन, अपहरणका घटना रोकिएका छैनन्, कसरी हुन्छ चुनाव ?' संविधानसभा के हो, कसरी भोट हाल्ने, किन भोट हाल्ने भन्ने विषय जनतालाई यो फोटो जस्तै भयको छ अनि कसरी होस त संविधानसभाको चुनाव पोखरेल सर ।

मधेसको समस्या समाधान गर्ने नाउँमा आन्दोलन जारी छ । वास्तविक समस्या के हुन् र ती के कारणले समाधान हुन सकेका छैनन् भन्ने नबुझी लहैलहैमा लागेका मेरा बन्धुहरूसँग बहस चलाउन चाहन्छु । मधेसको मूल समस्या भनेको अन्य भागबाट हराउँदै गएको तर मधेसी मूलका बस्तीमा जरा गाडेर बसेको जमिनदारी प्रथा हो । मधेसमा एउटा जमिनदारको महल वरिपरि सयौं सुकुम्बासी किसानका झुप्रा हामीले देखे, भोगेका छौं । त्यहाँ धनीहरूको जमिनदारी यति छ कि उनीहरू अझै पनि गाउँमा आफूलाई ठाकुर र जमिनदार साहेब भन्दा गर्व गर्छन् । गरिब यति गरिब छन् सिङ्गो गाउँमै एउटा पनि सिरक नभएको समाचार पढ्न पाइन्छ । मधेसी मूलका बस्तीमा महारोगका रूपमा रहेको अर्को समस्या दलितमाथि उपल्ला जातिले गर्ने पशुवत् व्यवहार हो । मधेसी आन्दोलन चलेकै बेलामा पनि रौतहटका दलितलाई मधेसी उपल्ला जातिले गाउँ निकाला गरेको र उनीहरूका चेलीमाथि दुर्व्यवहार भएको समाचार हामीले पढेका छौं । त्यसैगरी केही वर्षअघि सिरहाका चमार जातिका दलितले सिनो उठाउन नमान्दा अहिले मधेसी आन्दोलनका मसिहा बताउने तत्कालीन मन्त्री जयप्रकाश गुप्ताको नेतृत्वमा उपल्लो जातिले चमारहरूलाई गाउँ निकाला गरेका थिए ...
